Welcome to your new neighbourhood Klingelsberg! The neighborhood association delivers the Community Carryall to new residents
You've just moved house. How lovely is it when two local residents knock on your door to welcome you to your new neighbourhood? This is exactly what will now happen to people moving into the Klingelsberg area of Brunssum.
Community carryall
The 'Community carryall' is an initiative by the relatively young Neighbourhood Association Klingelsberg. Nena Jansen and Juanita Vernooy will personally welcome new residents and present them with a well-filled Community carryall. This sustainable cotton bag features the print: "Hi NEIGHBOUR" along with the eye-catching logo of the Neighbourhood Association Klingelsberg. The tote contains useful information, interesting facts about the Klingelsberg area, and delightful surprises to help new residents feel at home in their new surroundings.
A warm welcome
With the Community carryall, the Neighbourhood Association Klingelsberg aims to foster a close-knit, engaged community. By spontaneously knocking on the doors of new residents, Nena and Juanita hope to give them a warm welcome and lower the threshold for making connections with neighbours. “The more you participate in neighbourhood activities, the quicker your social network grows. That’s why we want to actively connect people in our community. After all, how wonderful is it to know the knowledge, experiences, or talents your neighbours possess? By expanding the reach within the neighbourhood, it becomes easier to ask for help from someone nearby If needed.”
Neighbourhood Activities
The Neighbourhood Association Klingelsberg was established in September 2024 and now includes nearly 60 member households. “By organising activities together, people get to know each other better, and the neighbourhood becomes a place where everyone feels at home. We host annual events such as the Christmas tree initiative ‘Dennenpracht’ and Neighbours’ Day, which are open to all residents. In addition, we organise exclusive activities specifically for members of the neighbourhood association. All our events are listed each quarter in our Neighbourhood Agenda, which is also available on our Facebook page. Did you know that our neighbourhood used to be called ‘Het Leeuwstuk’? There are fascinating stories behind this old name, which we’ll be highlighting soon!”

Tips?
The neighbourhood association does its best to keep track of where new neighbours move into the area, but they could really use your help. If you see a moving van on the street or have just moved in yourself, let them know via buurtverenigingklingelsberg@gmail.com. Together, we can ensure everyone gets a warm welcome!
